Instructions
  1. Boil 1 cup of toovar dhal
  2. When dhal is half cooked add Yam and ash gourd
  3. Add salt and following masala
Masala:
  1. (Use coconut oil for frying masala)
  2. 1 tbsp mustard seeds 1 tbsp urad dhal Few curry leaves 1 cup of extract from 3 lemon size tamarind balls (add water) 3 tbsp juggery
  3. When dhal and ash gourd is cooked add 3 cups of rice
  4. Add salt and masala paste
Masala paste:
  1. (first dry fry the spices and then grind with water)
  2. 1 tbsp pepper corns 1 tbsp bengal gram däl 1 tbsp urad däl 1/2 tbsp cumin seeds 2 tbsp coriander seeds 1 tbsp asafoetida (add last with few curry leaves and fry it with other spices only for 30 seconds)
