  1. Cook 1 cup of mung/toovar däl and 3 cups of rice
  2. In a separate pan fry: 1 tbsp mustard seeds 1 tbsp cumin seeds 1 tbsp fennel seeds 1 tbsp sesame seeds 1/4 tbsp asafoetida 1 tbsp ginger paste 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder 1/2 tbsp red chilli powder
  3. Add carrot, potatoes and salt
  4. Cook without adding water
  5. When cooked 95% add 1 tbsp garam masala 1 tbsp kasuri methi 2 tbsp grinded cashew nuts or peanuts
  6. Add into the dhal & rice and cook together for 5 min
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves.
